Nebulous How to Beat the Guardians
Five bosses, five prep checklists, and the stage notes that feed them.
The five Guardians are the spine of Roblox Nebulous by latent//state (permission from LostVolBytes). Between them sit twenty-five levels of block-boss bullet hell, loot blocks, and an upgrade tree with 80+ nodes. Clear the Guardians and you earn the right to contest the final boss; clear that once and permadeath opens with triple resources and one life.
This guide assumes solo play (maxPlayers = 1), released 2026-06-29, with mobile/controller support and co-op still on the roadmap. It also assumes you have read Getting Started and will farm before each Guardian.
Universal Guardian checklist
Before any Guardian:
- Join the Group for +15% resources (Group Rewards).
- Confirm rockets / usable items are unlocked and stocked (Rockets and Items).
- Prefer damage, clip, reload, bounce, rockets over early size/health/post-collection multipliers.
- Farm the previous level for a full bank.
- Recenter controls after shopping.
- Enter with a phase plan, not curiosity alone.
Guardian 1 — the toolkit exam (~level 5)
Guardian 1 exists to punish players who skipped rockets. If you cannot perform a level 5 rocket open + finish in the campaign levels, you will feel underpowered here.
Prep
- Unlock usable items/rockets first.
- Buy a damage spike so phases end before patterns fully bloom.
- One farm clear on the prior level.
Fight notes
- Spend a rocket on the open window, then commit gun DPS.
- Do not hoard every rocket for a fantasy “last phase” if phase one is already leaking.
- Collect loot only on safe arcs; Guard 1 deaths often come from greed, not DPS gates.
If you fail
Buy clip/reload or rocket efficiency, farm, return. Do not binge health nodes.
Mid-Guardian stretch (Guardians 2–3)
These fights assume you already understand openers from levels 7–8, where rocket opens are mandatory coursework.
Prep upgrades
- Bounce for messy block clusters
- Reload so controller/mobile uptime survives longer telegraphs
- Enough rocket ammo to open without draining your entire pocket
Fight notes
- Identify whether the Guardian wants a hard open (rocket) or a sustained lane (orbit + hold fire).
- When the arena spawns loot mid-phase, mark it mentally and pick it up on the transition—not through the densest flower.
- If a phase introduces new block armor, ask “core?” before you empty the clip into the shell.
Practice homework
Loop L7/L8 until rocket counting is boring. Boring means ready.
Guardian 4 — movement authority (level 10 lessons)
By Guardian 4, mechanical aim is not enough. You need the level 10 lesson: control a wing, then corner lure the rest.
Prep
- Movement confidence on L10 farm clears
- Damage high enough that a lured cluster dies before it re-expands
- Rockets reserved for authentic cores, not for skipping learning the lure
Fight notes
- Break the arena into sides. Finish one side’s threat before you accept a full encirclement.
- Use your ship’s path to drag remnants into a corner where bounce shots work overtime.
- If you feel yourself spraying in panic, release fire for a half-beat, re-center the orbit, then resume—reload upgrades exist for this recovery.
Guardian 5 — circle discipline (level 13 lessons)
Guardian 5 borrows the patience of level 13 shield circles. Jittery sticks die; stable radii live.
Prep
- Recalibrate sensitivity (Controls)
- Clip/reload invested so the circle stays lit
- Rockets saved for scripted opens, not for “I got nervous” taps
Fight notes
- Choose a radius and defend it.
- Strafe through predictable gaps; do not invent new geometry mid-phase.
- When shields or circle hazards pulse, count the beat aloud once or twice in soft mode until it sticks.
Cross-Guardian resource policy
Think in gates, not in infinite grinding:
| Gate | Minimum readiness |
|---|---|
| Guard 1 | Rockets unlocked, L5 open+finish consistent |
| Guards 2–3 | L7/L8 openers comfortable, bounce online |
| Guard 4 | L10 wing/corner lure reproducible |
| Guard 5 | L13 circle stable for full cycles |
| Final boss | All of the above + fresh farm bank |
Codes are nice if present (Codes Hub), but they will not replace this readiness table.
Panic tools vs panic habits
Rockets are tools. Panic is a habit. Legal panic:
- Opening a core that is stalling the phase
- Breaking a formation that has you hard-trapped
Illegal panic:
- Firing two rockets because the first one was mistimed
- Rockets into empty space while a core sits closed on the far side
- Dumping items immediately after taking trivial chip damage
Review Rockets and Items if your Guardian logs show more self-wipes than boss kills.
Soft mode vs permadeath Guardians
In soft mode, use early Guardian attempts as scouting missions—die once for information if needed, then farm. In permadeath, scouting with your only life is unacceptable. Watch patterns carefully from prior soft clears, or accept longer farm prep. Triple resources do not refund a mistimed lure.
After Guardian 5
Do not rush the final boss on tilt. Bank one more farm, repair your upgrade gaps, and enter with the same checklist you used for Guard 5. The final fight is a final exam for every lesson above, not a unique genre swap.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Nebulous pilots.
How many Guardians are in Nebulous?
Five Guardians, placed across the 25-level campaign before the final boss.
What do I need before Guardian 1?
Usable items/rockets unlocked, a farmed resource bank, and comfort with level 5 rocket open-and-finish timing.
Which levels teach Guardian movement?
Level 10 teaches wing control and corner lures; level 13 teaches shield circle discipline.
Should I buy health before Guardians?
Not early. Prioritize damage, clip, reload, bounce, and rockets so phases end sooner and cores open cleanly.
Can I fight Guardians in co-op?
Not yet. Nebulous is solo today; co-op is on the roadmap. Prep as if nobody can revive you.
